This qualification reflects the role of individuals with the skills and knowledge to perform in a range of varied activities in the Live Production where there is a clearly defined range of contexts. Activities are of limited complexity with required actions clearly defined. Students will be working on real live productions at school.
Students can achieve a staging focus; lighting and sound focus; acting/performing focus or stage construction focus. Refer to the tables overleaf for each one.
This section does NOT include Music as this is covered in a separate section.
This course can be delivered across one year (if working on the pathway program – see below) or two years for Year 11 and 12 students. This course requires 6.85 hours per week to complete in one year.
This qualification has several different streams – units in streams cannot be changed:

• Generic (you select the units from any unit listed in the streams above)
BSBWOR203 Work effectively with others
CUAIND201 Develop and apply creative arts industry knowledge
CUAWHS302 Apply work health and safety practices
Electives – 7 - 4 from Group A; 3 from Group A or B or any currently endorsed package at Cert II or III Level relevant to this qualification and integrity of the vocational outcome.
CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
CUASTA201 Develop basic staging skills
CUASTA202 Assist with bump in and bump out of shows
CUALGT201 Develop basic lighting skills and knowledge
CUAPRP201 Develop basic prop construction skills
CUASCE201 Develop basic scenic art
CUASMT301 Work effectively backstage during performances
Note: beware of selection units and meeting packaging rules. The generic stream does not provide a pathway to the Cert III in Live Production.
These streams follow onto the CUA30415 Certificate III in Live Production and provides several exemptions in this course.
